Upon greeting you to the clinic I will outline what you ought to expect during your session. I will begin by conducting a medical history which may play an important role in determining the diagnosis! Shortly after I will then carry out specialised orthopaedic tests to determine the source of the problem and will outline the best treatment plan based on the findings from the assessment.
It is common & expected to experience DOMS (delayed onset muscles soreness) for 2-3 days after your treatment. This would be the equivalent of muscle soreness after performing strenuous exercise in the gym. Bruising is not a common effect of deep tissue massage, however, if you are prone to bruising then that would be the exception.
Typically clients tend to feel 20 – 50% improvement after their first visit, this of course varies based on the chronic nature of the injury/ complaint and the clients compliance towards their rehabilitation program.
